"E. Julius" (soonerfrommi)

Contrast is truly what defines this song, with both the sound and lyrics constantly teetering on the edge between cheerful and melancholy. In classic Cardigans style, Nina Persson's vocals seem to float above the rest of the band, and they're complimented well by an exuberant flute and staccato piano chords in the chorus. These are contrasted with distorted guitars and a bass riff that gets downright dark at points, all while maintaining a superb blend.
This is the final track on First Band On The Moon , by far the Cardigans most successful and well known album. It doesn't get as much attention as the album's singles (although"Lovefool" is tough competition), which is a huge shame in my opinion.
